Podomedy, the UK’s independent podcast comedy network, brings live entertainment to North Hampshire with the launch of monthly comedy nights at Goldfinch Books in Alton.
Goldfinch Books is already recognised as a vibrant cultural space. Since 2022, the venue has hosted everything from music performances and poetry nights to author talks. Now, comedy will become a regular fixture in the calendar, following successful appearances by Rhys James and Helen Lederer. By working with Podomedy, the bookshop aims to establish itself as a home for high quality humour, drawing both local audiences and visitors from further afield.
Each of the comedy nights at Goldfinch Books under the Chapters Comedy Club brand will present a carefully chosen line up of comedians. Podomedy plans to showcase both established names and new acts who are gaining momentum on the UK circuit. The mix of styles and voices will give audiences a chance to discover fresh talent while enjoying the assured skill of experienced performers.
